Two new drawings

Of a piece of wood.

And a 'personal piece'. Whatever that means.

This semester has been quite busy. Much less sleep than I would prefer. Hopefully I can do some things that I like over the break and post them here. Ironically, my illustration education has been full of many illustrative things and I'm burnt out. I can't see myself making visual metaphors for the rest of my life.

I have a lovely girlfriend, here's some bad photographs of some maps of her hair and my fingertips. I'll scan them soon.

Here's the prints from the plate I posted last time. I experimented some with different papers and how wet the paper was.

Recent things

I've been learning etching. Here's one of my first etchings, and a plate that I just finished and will be printing tomorrow.

I threw in a graphite/watercolor maple pod as a bonus, which has inspired a poem book for one of my classes this semester, which in turn inspired me to learn etching.

I've done several barn drawings similar to the last one I posted and am now working on a collaborative book to help contextualize and encase them

Here are all of the drawings together. They'll be accompanied by several smaller, companion drawings. It is looking good so far, and I can't wait to see it printed. Once the writing for the book is finished and I look more into getting it published, I'll post the cover and details on how you might be able to purchase one.

Aside from these drawings, I'm also working on a more installation-like project. Involving large drawings of maple pod (helicopters) and an animal skull. I'm really liking it, and I've barely started. I'll try to post that once I've gotten somewhere as well.
