First post.

I was doing everything but listen to Jan Kennedy today in class, including looking through blogs. All of my teachers seem to have blogs and it looks like a nice path to follow down.

I'm currently a student at the Kansas City Art Institute in Illustration. I draw, a lot, most of it unrelated to any class assignments. I think I have a special relationship with drawing, viewing it as some sort of coping/visualization/learning tool. Drawing has helped solve a lot of problems in my 19 years of life (not to say that it hasn't created any...) and this blog will be my attempt to give it some of the credit I think it deserves.

My most recent drawing phase is actually about the act itself - an attempt to identify and recreate conscious and subconscious acts through the use of translucency, graphite, and lights. I have several drawings completed but am currently (fittingly) drawing my way through the kinks of the presentation.

I'll post some drawings from this series in my next post, but for now here are some recent things that I've done, some of it from school, some of it not.
